Hot Cocoa by the Fire

Shhhh….. I was up very late trying to catch the man in red. My head hurts a little from the lack of sleep. If you do not mind, I wish to keep the lights off and just sit here with my pillow by the fire. I am going to stay here until noon and try and get some more sleep. Nana says it is ok we can open gifts later when I am more awake. She did make me some hot cocoa in hopes that it would make me feel better; it did a little.

My allowance has been cut off because I had made a comment to Nana about child labours. She had asked me to explain what I meant and why I thought I was being subjected to child labours. I had beamed as I told her all about having to keep my room clean, setting and clearing the table, making sure the kitties had food, and having to help was dishes was taking from my youth. I even laughed as I told her this was an injustice and not something a child my age should be doing. She was not impressed with me. I want to shop for new toys and can’t because I have no more allowance until I can respect my elders.

Winter Fires

Funny how I never put much thought into how the things I love about summer could actually be done over the winter too. I had thought that once summer and fall were over the snow began to cover the world in a blanket of thick cold and wet all was over and I needed to hibernate. I was surprised to see a small fire nestled just off the path, burning bright, warm, and inviting. It made me wonder what else I had mistaken as just a summer and fall activity. I stayed for a bit and warmed up by the fire before I turned back up the path and made my way for home.

Bedtime Stories

I am having a hard time sleeping lately. In my attempts to try and make my brain tired, I have taken to reading books. Not just one book but a number of books. I have three or four books on the go currently. Short stories, novels and even picture books. With each new book I get better at reading but I am not getting tired at all, it is actually having the opposite effect on me and I am staying wide awake as I am whisked off to far away places. I may never sleep again.

Warm Jammies

The weather is getting colder and that means my bedtime jammies need to get warmer. Some nights my room is so cold compared to the rest of the house, a mystery I cannot figure out. I have looked for drafts, open windows and maybe possible cracks in the wall; I find nothing though, no indications as to why my room gets cold. I found these really cute sweater jammies though that keep me warm and snuggly, my bears also help keep me warm at night.
